The subject I chose to photograph suited the theme as it depicts objects which have been used and discarded, which is what I had initially been going for with the skips. My composition helped to support my response to the theme by making it look as though the piles of objects were infinite in a way. I also think that the images are good as they are clear. The lighting of the images was not great, making them look quite dull, but I think that this in a way is also good because it sets a somewhat fitting tone based on the fact that it is representing consumption which is harmful.

To create these images, I put scrunched up plastic bags on a lightbox. I then put different coloured plastic underneath to light the bag up that colour. I placed my camera inside the bag and photographed them in a way that made them look like an abstract 'landscape' - similar to the work of Vilde Rolfsen.
To edit them, I opened them in Photoshop and adjusted the brightness and contrast. |
